One of the things I do not miss about my stint as a barman (if ten years is a stint), was people moaning to me. Not AT ME, but TO me. The regulars that hold the mundane with such high regard; it used to put me on a real downer all shift. It it always geared towards how unfair their life was, how little choices they had etc.. But I cared, I really cared. That’s what put me on such a downer. How they could just give up, sitting there, pickling their liver gulp by gulp. I don’t care if you’re sixteen, younger, or seventy. There is always a choice. Always. Every morning you wake up, every second of the day.
Choose not to give up, choose not to be defeated. Dream. Dare to dream. Don’t be afraid of failing. Keep going, never give up.
Because that’s the point when it’s over. Remember one thing: if everyone was a defeatist, nothing would ever be achieved. And that would make for a very boring place, don’t you think? So choose to fight for your dreams, not to sit in the dark corner winding down the clock. Be the person you were destined to be.
